20 Books Sponsored. 3 Community Literacy Partners. One Goal: 150 Young Readers.
The crumb trail is already moving. What started as an idea to help place more books into the hands of children is already becoming something real. Through Sponsor a Little Reader, three Community Literacy Partners have now sponsored 20 copies of Nora Escapes the Bakery toward our goal of placing 150 books into young readers’ hands.
Our Impact So Far
Where the Books Are Going
Five sponsored books have already been physically delivered to a Baltimore organization serving children and families through pediatric developmental healthcare, research, education, and support.
Fifteen additional books have been sponsored for upcoming literacy and community outreach.
Next Stop: The Children’s Inn at NIH
As Nora Escapes the Bakery continues its book tour, one of our upcoming stops is especially meaningful. On August 25, I’ll be visiting The Children’s Inn at NIH as part of its Author Series, where I’ll spend an hour with children and their families sharing Nora’s story, talking about my journey as an author, and leading a fun book-inspired art activity.
I’m working to provide free copies of Nora Escapes the Bakery to young readers participating in the experience. As the tour continues, sponsored books will also help support literacy and community outreach opportunities beyond this event.
Help Us Reach 150 Books
Our goal is to place 150 copies of Nora Escapes the Bakery into the hands of young readers through community literacy initiatives, educational programs, family support organizations, and outreach connected to the book tour.
We’re starting this public progress report at 20 books, not zero. Three Community Literacy Partners have already stepped forward, and books have already reached children.
